However, any time of the year is suitable for a visit, except for the rainy season from March to June. During this time, the animals tend to disperse and are harder to spot.

Location of Silale Swamp Picnic Site

Silale Swamp Picnic Site is located near the western end of Silale Swamp in Tarangire National Park. The picnic site is situated on the eastern side of the park, and the Silale swamp is to the east of it. The Tarangire River is a short distance away from the picnic site.

How to get there?

There are two ways to get to Silale Swamp Picnic Site: by road or air. If you are traveling by road, you can hire a vehicle, join a tour group, or use a rental car. The roads leading to the park are well-maintained, but it is recommended to use a 4×4 vehicle. If you are coming from outside the country, you can take a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, which are the closest airports to Tarangire National Park. From there, you can either hire a vehicle or take a domestic flight to one of the airstrips in the park.
