History

Precision Air was founded as a private airline in Tanzania in January 1991 and began operations in 1993. It began as a private charter air transport firm but switched to scheduled services in November 1993 to accommodate the burgeoning tourism sector.

Precision Air was the first Tanzanian airline to pass the IATA Operational Safety Audit in 2006.

The airline went public in April of 2011.
