A Suspended Walkway in the Trees

The treetop walkway is located in the north of the park, close to the entrance gates, and is the first suspended walkway in Tanzania. At 370m in total, it is also one of the longest in Africa. The walkway is set high among the trees, providing a unique perspective from which to observe the wildlife.

A Unique Wildlife Viewing Experience

Being high up in the trees puts you at eye level with the birds and monkeys, allowing you to observe them up close and personal. Lake Manyara is known for its great variety of birdlife, including flamingos, pelicans, and storks. Blue and vervet monkeys, as well as huge troops of baboons, can also be spotted.

Elephants and buffalo have been known to wander through the forest area where the walkway is situated, providing a rare opportunity to observe these majestic animals from above. From your quiet vantage point above the forest floor, you may even spy some of the more shy species, such as dik dik and other flighty antelope.
