Fort Ikoma

History of Fort Ikoma

Visiting Fort Ikoma

Fort Ikoma is located about 35 kilometers north of the town of Seronera, which is the main tourist hub of the Serengeti National Park. Visitors can reach the fort by driving or taking a tour bus on the main road that runs through the park. It’s also possible to fly into the nearby Ikoma Airstrip and take a short drive to the fort.

The fort is open to visitors from 9:00am to 4:30pm daily. Visitors can explore the museum and learn about the history and culture of the region, as well as enjoy the panoramic views of the Serengeti plains from the top of the fort.
