There have been reports of this crossing being closed to tourists in the past and we are not sure as to whether it is open yet.
Alternatively, the gate could also be used as an information point or rest stop before heading west to Kogatende.
How to get there
There are two ways to reach there: by road or by air transport, however, the latter requires a long journey from the closest airport. This might be the closest airfield for the Lobo or one of the Serengeti’s other airstrips.
Depending to your vehicle, the distance from Naabi Hill and Ndabaka to the gate is approximately 158 km and 193 km, respectively. Given the lack of fuel stations in the region, particularly those that sell gasoline, some extra fuel and water may be useful.
